Apologies for the not-so-exciting photos hehe This is part of my current non-work related projects at the moment; re-doing my dull room upstairs to a more fun & relaxing place.

The "Photos in a Salad Bowl" was a suggestion from my own personal interior designer ;p haha many thanks for all the tips! Yes, you are definitely in the wrong industry haha :p

As the name suggests, my "Photos in a Salad Bowl" is basically just dumping my photos into a bowl (I just happen to have a salad bowl back from the student days hehe). The top photo in the bowl is a photo of Masjid Al-Haram in Makkah taken with my fisheye lomo camera :)

Masjid Quba' is located about 4.8km from Masjid Nabawi. It is the first Masjid in Islam whose foundations were laid by the Prophet Muhammad S.A.W himself.

Bukit Uhud is one of the historical places around/near Madinah and this is where the Battle of Uhud took place on the month of Syawal 3H.

The Battle of Uhud was fought between the Muslims (led by Nabi Muhammad S.A.W) and the Quraish from Makkah. There are plenty of books on this or if you want, google it up also. There's also a movie I remember watching called The Message which tells part of the story of the Battle of Uhud (as well as Battle of Badr). The history is very interesting & filled with many lessons to be learn!

Learn from the site also that it rained in Makkah on 4th June 2008 during Sembahyang Maghrib. Alhamdullillah. How I wished we were still there around that time...

They say a dog is a man's best friend, is cosmetics ours?

When we were kids we had a 'one special person' (or a few in my case) whom we call our best friend. They were there for u in good and bad times. U see them everyday, talk on the phone everyday, maybe write letters everyday (in my case lol I know!), sleepover at their house on the weekends (for some) and as kids, you were part of this certain clique and whoever tried to take your best friend away from u, well, u know what'll happen to them! Yes most of us were possessive of our best friends.

As we grow wiser (I didn't wanna say OLDER cos hey it's not a nice word!) we do these things less with our best friends. Other things take over; work, other relationships, family...

So what about our best friends? Where are they now and where are u? Are u still around for them as they are for u or do u now turn to someone or something else in their absence?

I know I still have mine. I know they'll always be there for me even if we don't get to do all those childhood things anymore. So to my best friends, thank you for everything and I say that with all my love :)

Took these shots some time ago earlier this year but had to hold off from posting it here... just remembered I had these in my hard drive.

Anyways, these were taken just for fun at one of the bridal shops in Brunei - Sirih Junjung. They're located in Batu Bersurat and I believe their uniqueness is their designs for Tempat Cincin for Pertunangan (an example below). Googled bit more and found some information on Sirih Junjung Shop here and here

This Arch was presented by Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Di-Gadong Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Mohd. Yusuf to mark the coronation of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah on 1st August 1968.

Apparently the original location of this arch was around Kg Sultan Lama area but moved a bit due to the construction of the Yayasan Shopping Complex Building in Oct 1993. I didn't know that :)

I thought arriving at 645am was early enough to get a decent parking space, boy was I wrong! I blocked the car in front of mine, behind, left and right! I didn't think it was going to be that packed at that hour.

I knew going to an event such as this, I would bump into a lot of photographers who are eager to snap each others' picture, uh huh H&B is right, quite a nightmare for us She-Shooters. I didn't really want to think about that but it was hard to ignore. I knew I came there with a mission: to take some decent photos, so that's what I did (hopefully these photos turn out ok!)

It was my first time being on the other side, I must say, it's more exciting than sitting at the grandstand. There's just so much more to see, you can feel the atmosphere I can't even begin to describe it!

Dodging photographers, having a good time, under the sun... If I had to do it again, I'd say why the hell not?

My mate and I braved the dark and cold morning yesterday to catch the National Day celebrations. I don't know about my friend but it was a first for me. We thought we got there quite early but when we got to our designated parking area, it was already filled to the brim. Having gotten permission to block some cars, we set out to fill our bellies with breakfast and then ventured out to Jalan Sultan only to find ourselves in the middle of a She-Shooter's nightmare. There were shutterbugs left right and centre! To quote my friend, it looked like somebody puked photographers in the middle of the Capital. This made it quite difficult to take photos while trying not to get spotted haha I only hope that if any of you did spot us, you'd keep that little secret to yourself ;)

In any case, I did enjoy myself. The sights and sounds of the Capital on a 23rd of February is certainly something to experience. The following are just some samples of my interpretation of the morning's parade. More to come shortly.

I've been meaning to see the grounds of this revamped school. Yes revamped. Huge (not that it wasn't huge before but now it's just more than that). White (it used to be brown and beige- both colors fading). And tiring for the feet or at least that's what I was told. My schedule for the past couple of weeks hasn't been so great so luckily it was my week off so I got a friend to give me a little tour of this new yet memorable place.

I was feeling nostalgic and smiling everytime I took a shot, reminiscing the time I attended the school back in the 90's. A lot has changed, however, I was very happy when I heard AND saw the spiral staircase is still there! A, you saw how big my smile was when u told me about it! Thanks for the tour A!

Did you know that when you give someone roses, different colours signify different meanings?

Some photos from my trip to Tokyo, Japan late 2007. Due to the hectic schedule, I hardly had a chance to explore the city and take photos. Despite the short visit, the city did leave a lasting impression on me. Where else would you find men in suits riding scooters and bicycles? Pictured are some of the miniatures available at the Wonders of the World, Festival of Lights at the Jerudong Park Gardens. Plenty of photo ops there but I wish they had more Wonders of the world available. It was a good effort to bring JP back to life nonetheless, the parking lot was pretty full and there were long lines to get in the night I went. I hope the management organises more events in the future.
